The Research Group promotes elements of Environmental Education and Education for Sustainability that foster critical thinking, empowerment for action, self-determination, pluralism, connection with the community and a sense of democratic citizenship. A significant part of its work focuses on the development and evaluation of learning materials and activities related to ecology, the environment, and environmental issues.

This website aims to serve as:

  • A reservoir of ideas and suggestions for lessons and activities related to Environmental Education and Education for Sustainability, as well as topics on the environment, ecology, and human biology taught within the framework of Natural Sciences or Environmental Education and Education for Sustainability in primary schools. Through the learning materials available on the website, we contribute to achieving the goals of the new curriculum regarding Environmental Education and improving the existing content of science related to environmental and human biology topics.

  • A source of information on research conducted in the field of Environmental Education and the teaching of Ecology, as well as on related conferences, seminars, and events in Cyprus and abroad.

  • A hub for communication, mutual support, and exchange of ideas among academics and researchers in the field of Environmental Education, educators in Preschool, Primary, and Secondary Education, and anyone interested in  methodology, content, pedagogy, and research related to Environmental Education.
